my teacher is saying that The volume of the sphere(d=17.25) would be V = πr^3 V = (3.14)(8.625^3) ≈ 2686.25 in but i am only getting this number when i us the formula v=3/4(3.14)(r^3)

so that simply your teacher, is for the sake of simplicity, using 3.14 for \(\pi\)
