Which measurement's are scalar and why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiple choice?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Some "measurements" or units that are scalar include mass, length, time, volume, etc. A scalar unit means that they are measurable values, of course, but they don't necessarily have a direction. Vector measurements or units include force, velocity, acceleration, etc. both have a magnitude and a DIRECTION.

OpenStudy (korosh23):

Scalars are quantities that are fully described by a magnitude (or numerical value) alone. Vectors are quantities that are fully described by both a magnitude and a direction. If you are new to this stuff. Make sure you definitely watch this video. It is very helpful. https://www.khanacademy.org/science/physics/one-dimensional-motion/displacement-velocity-time/v/introduction-to-vectors-and-scalars If you have anymore question. Feel free to ask me to calrify it much more for you. https://www.khanacademy.org/science/physics/one-dimensional-motion/displacement-velocity-time/v/introduction-to-vectors-and-scalars
