Can anyone tell me in proper Spanish how to say "There are" in Spanish? I need to tell five things in Spanish that can be found on a dinning room table. So far I have (There are) tenedors, cuchillos, cucharas, platos, y vasos en la mesa. Can anyone help me improve this?

OpenStudy (inowalst):

"hay" is "there are" So just say, Hay... (with the words you just listed)

OpenStudy (alfonso-o):

Hello there! If I may join in... just to say I agree with @inowalst ! :) (Indeed, *hay* is invariable [no plural form], so it is used to mean both "there is" and "there are".) Also, I'd note the plural for *TENEDOR* (with final -R) is formed by adding *-ES* at the end. Another example is: *comedor* [one dining room] --> *comedores* [more than one dining room] Hope this helps! Blessings
