Welcome
Do you have a question? :)
HIIIIIII :) WELCOME to the Wonderful OPENSTUDY
WELCOME TO OPENSTUDY!! :)
yes i have a question
hmmm what is it?
What property is shown? –8 + (–15) = (–15) + (–8) A. commutative property B. associative property C. opposite of a sum property D. distributive property
ok that was awkward

what was akward?
welcom
all those question marks
xD Refresh page
Just go to another page and come back to this one. It'll be fine. Just an Openstudy glitch that happens when you copy and paste signs.
use this for your question
wow lots of people viewing Cx
communitive property - changing the order of addition and multiplication doesn't change the answer
associative property - adding parenthesis to addition and multiplication doesn't change the answer
it is C
What property is shown? –8 + (–15) = (–15) + (–8) A. commutative property B. associative property C. opposite of a sum property D. distributive property
i can't see it
COMMUTATIVE PROPERTY---It does not matter which number is first when you write the problem. examples...5+3=3+5, 9+7=7+9 or a+b = b+a or ab = ba ASSOCIATIVE PROPERTY---Involves 3 or more numbers, two numbers are in parenthesis(they are "associated" together). examples...(2+5) +4=11, 2+(5+4) = 11...remember,always do parenthesis first, order of operations. a+(b+c)=(a+b)+c or a(bc) = (ab)c DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY---The sum of two numbers is equal to the sum of each addend times a third number. examples..4 x (.6+3)= 4 x 6 + 4 x 3, 5x (1+2)= 5 x 1+ 5 x 2, a(b+c) = ab +ac or (b+c)a=ba + ca. IDENTITY PROPERTIES--- 1. addition--additive identity is 0. a+0=0+a = a 2. multiplication--multiplication identity is 1. a(1)=1(a)=a INVERSE PROPERTIES-- 1.additive inverse(or negative)...a + (-a) = 0 2. multiplication inverse (or reciprocal)...a (1/a)= (1/a)a = 1 http://www.wtamu.edu/academic/anns/mps/m... If you look through these you will find that the answer to your question is commutative property.
It is A
ok i still dont understand
It's not C. Ignore @unknownbeast911 's comment.
thanks
