Determine the mass in grams of 3.23 moles of glucose (C6H12O6).

OpenStudy (somy):

mole = mass /molecular mass you have mole given and you have the compound known to you thus you can get the molecular mass using periodic table so find mass mass = mole x molecular mass

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.25 mol C6H12O6 * (6.022*10^23/1g) * (180.156g/1mol)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

=9.66*10^-22 or 96.6 Is that right?

OpenStudy (somy):

why are u trying to find molecules/atoms? q is asking for mass alone tho?

OpenStudy (somy):

so its mole x molecular mass mole = 3.25 molecular mass = 180

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That gives 585

OpenStudy (somy):

yep

OpenStudy (somy):

585 grams is your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what do you do after find that or is that the answer? I'm a little confused.
