Corrine made smoothies for her family, but she changed the recipe from the previous time she used it. The first recipe required that she use one-third of a container of orange juice. This time, she used one-fourth of the orange juice required in the original recipe. If she used 8 ounces of orange juice this time, how much orange juice was in the original container? Explain your answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10.6 the original container holds 32 ounces of juice which means if 8 ounces is a fourth you do 8 times 4 and you get 32 and you divide 32 by 3 and get 10.6

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

8 ounces = one-fourth (1/4) of the original recipe So original recipe = ?? ounces Original recipe = one-third (1/3) of the container So the container = 3 * original recipe = the answer
