for 8 the answer is fan and medal will be appreciated let me know if this helps please. No, Napoleon Bonaparte (August 15, 1769 - May 5, 1821) was not successful in Egypt. Specifically, the Egyptian Campaign of 1798-1799 was carried out by Napoleon as commander-in-chief and with the approval of the Directory and the assistance of Foreign Minister Talleyrand (February 2, 1754 - May 17, 1838). The campaign's goals were defined as the capture of Malta followed in swift succession by the dislodging of the English from the Orient, the engineering of a canal through the Isthmus of Suez, the improving of the daily lives of native Egyptians and the organizing of a permanent French colony. At great cost, Malta would be captured and lost, the French occupation would be begun and ended, and the French withdrawal would be completed by just over three years after the campaign's beginning.
