HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

@Omgthatgirl remember that any negative number squared equals an imaginary number. Therefore, square-rooting 64 would give you a positive imaginary number of...:

OpenStudy (omgthatgirl):

8

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

yeah! more precisely, it would be 8i

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

so if you subtract that by 12, but 8i stays positive, what is your answer?

OpenStudy (omgthatgirl):

ok we got that part what about the other

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

well, i can tell you right now that we can eliminate A because 8i is positive, not negative and we can eliminate B because 12 is negative, not positive

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

you think you can figure out the answer from here? @Omgthatgirl

OpenStudy (omgthatgirl):

is it 8i-12

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

actually, the imaginary number goes at the end. it should be -12+8i Albiet, those equations are basically flipped around, that's the only difference

OpenStudy (omgthatgirl):

oh ok thanks!

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

No problem :)
