Why Ovaries are not directly connected to Fallopian tube? I searched about it yet couldn't find any satisfying answer to it :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Fallopian tubes and ovaries are part of the female reproductive system. The ovary is not directly attached to the Fallopian tube. When ovulation is about to occur, the sex hormones set-off the fimbriae, causing it to swell with blood and hit the ovary in a gentle, sweeping motion. When Fallopian tubes are not attached to the ovaries they are able to pick up the released egg from surrounding the ovary, and transport in to the uterus.
