OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):

Can someone please explain this to me? Use the function to answer the question. What is the value of h(1)? 1 0 1 2

OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

h maps (k) to (k^2-k)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

so h takes an input value and produces an output value ..... it functions on whatever k is

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if we insert (1) into h, then k=1 ... what is the output?

OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):

Okay so h is the domain and k is the range?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

h is the name of the function, think of it as y if it helps k is the domain, (k^2-k) is the range

OpenStudy (amistre64):

h(k) = k^2-k what is h(k=1) or simply, h(1)

OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):

Okay, I think the answer is one, correct?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what is 1^2-1 ?

OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):

Okay, zero. That was my first answer but I second guessed myself.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well, third guess it back to zero :)

OpenStudy (inexilewetrust):

Sorry, that confused me. I am not sure if I follow...
