Really if you give a pic, it will be easier to find out what it is.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
That may be, but from his description and this "Snake Dictionary" Book I have on my shelf, I can confirm that it is a Ringneck.
OpenStudy (greencat):
are the scales smooth or keeled?
OpenStudy (greencat):
if it is shiny it has smooth scales

shiny
OpenStudy (anonymous):
The snake's scales are shiny, it's body can be held in the palm of your hand, red tint, red underbelly, and the band gives it away. Ringneck.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yep
OpenStudy (anonymous):
that sounds about right but also look up red bellied snake
OpenStudy (anonymous):
they are almost the same

They are similar, but that red band are more like prints.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
its not a red band it a gray lightly faded band
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Grey? That definitely sounds like a Ringneck, could you take a photo of it?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i let it go yesterday
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i never got a pic
