Question about making Tutorials What is the best way to structure one. And should we create a 'compulsory' template for tutorials, so they all look 'orderly'? Thanks!
Just askin cos i wrote a few history tutorials
A tutorial having good info is good BUT Ask yourself If it was you to see this tutorial - Will it attract you? - How does it look like? Does it look colorful & Interesting? ***Colors tend to catch attention, our brains love colors :3 - Is it a plain long text? You see, even if info is good, if it looks like a text that has no end, would you be curious enough to read it? I'd be bored :/ (im referring to study materials specifically) - Is it simple? Or complicated? We all like when its simple and clear :) so in short: Tutorial has to be -Colorful -Have good divisions -Pictures if there is info that requires visualization -Simple and clear Thats what I see in tutorials and try my best to make my tutorials with qualities I've listed http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/54f7651ae4b091cfc28e2ae2 Something like this, I'd be attracted to it myself :3 Well I hope it does have 'simple and clear' quality though LOL p.s. Im referring to all tutorials in general For history specifically -good divisions -clear, and not too longs text (with main info) -use colors to show important info in your text -pictures, if you have some kind of pics related to what you are writing on, put it -even vids are good, so you can put a video also (if there is any regarding your topic) Thats about it I think :D
It should also be unique. We have several tutorials on \(\LaTeX\) so it is not like we need more of them unless they deal with some topic not yet covered. It should be short. I do pretty long things for tutorials but I have seen linger, denser things that read like a wikipeda page. You need to get the key points to the person and keep them on topic. If the topic is large, multiple tutorials may be better with an overview in one and specifics in the others.
