Well, since protons have a positive charge, they're like positive numbers. Like 4, 54, 23847, and 10. Electrons have a negative charge. They're your negative numbers. Neutrons have no charge. They're the number 0. So let's look at A. The carbon atom has 6 neutrons. That's 0+0+0+0+0+0. We still get 0. SO we get to ignore those numbers :). Moving on to protons. There's 6 of them and they have a positive charge. That's like adding 6+6+6+6+6+6. Or \[6\times6\] What do you get when you multiply that?

Lets say that the Ravens started out with 2 runs and the Raiders have 0. The Ravens gained 3 runs. Now they have 5. In the next inning, the Raiders gained 5 runs. They have 5, too. The Raiders just counteracted what the Ravens did.
