A sample of oxygen gas has a volume of 150 mL with a pressure of 0.947 atm. What will the volume be if pressure is increased to 770 torr? Select one: a. 158 mL b. 141 mL c. 100 mL d. 0.18 mL

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

First of all, you want your pressure units to be consistent. Either convert 0.947 atm to torr or vice versa.

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

0.947 atm=719.72 torr now use boyle's law v1p1=v2pw (150ml)(719.72 torr)=(770 torr)(v2)

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

solve for v2

Thank you so much, @dtan5457 . I'm absolute rubbish with this kind of stuff.
