A 14.91 g sample of NaBr contains 22.34% Na by mass. Considering the law of constant composition (definite proportions) how many grams of sodium does a 6.71 g sample of sodium bromide contain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 6.71 g NaBr }{ }*\frac{ 22.34 g Na }{ 100 g NaBr }\]

It is just a simple conversion for every 100 grams of NaBr you will have 22.34 grams of Na. You were told what percent of a compound is by mass and those ratios wont change even if you change the amount you start with. So you're answer should be 1.5 g of Na
