A student notices that a reaction takes place faster when the temperature is higher. Which best explains why this happens? At higher temperatures, the molecules collide more frequently. The heat of the solution breaks apart chemical bonds. As the particles move more quickly, they can more easily avoid each other. Catalysts cannot be effective at high temperatures.
