A proportional relationship between the number of pounds of cabbage (x) and the price in dollars (y) is graphed, and the ordered pair (5, 2) is on the graphed line. Part A: What is the price of 1 pound of cabbage? Show your work, including the proportion you used to determine the price. Part B: What does the ordered pair (10, 4) on the graph represent? Explain in words.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Part A: So if you get 5 pounds for 2 dollars that means the ratio is \[\frac{ 5 }{ 2 }\] If you want x to be 1 then divide the 5 and the 2 by 5. In other words\[\frac{ 5/5 }{ 2/5 }\to 1/.4 \] Since the bottom value is our Y, or price, the price of 1 pound of cabbage is 40 cents.

Part B: The ordered pair (10,4) is showing that you would get 10 pounds of cabbages for 4 dollars.
