Le Chatlier’s Principle (concentration does what?)
@quickthing
HI!
Hello. Long time no see.
yes how have you been? !
i need to know what le charlies principles concetration do
Good, you?
Let me think.
Simply put, Reaction shifts to the right to make more product.
?
LOL. There used to be a guy on here that was great at chemistry. Can't remember his name though.
this is also my study guide lol i need to know what that means
i know a couple
@dtan5457
Let me see, maybe spectrum can help. @Spectrum
Sorry I wasn't as helpful as you.
Its fine
hi spectrum
thanks for the medals
c: thanks for your help c:
Np
Basically this is just the law of balance, but for chemical reaction applications. Not sure what else there is to say.. It basically says that in chemical reactions balance (or equilibrium) will always atleast attempt to be reached. Concentration is just another variable in this that wants to remain balanced.
that is just as fine will you be able to help me with the rest?
i can give more medals :l
i just gotta do that last page
Perhaps. But post them on the openstudy in typed format , my computer is having a tempertantrum. And don't worry about medals, they aren't worth anything.
:o ok thank you!
ok i will post the images
Label the following graphs as endothermic or exothermic:
endothermic means absorbed right?
so it would be the rigth one?
Endothermic is adsorbed yes. So energy in the reaction will be increased. Yes it would be the right one.
OK thank you
my next question is
How do you name covalent compounds?
This type of compound is usually named with prefixes. CO2 Carbon "DI" oxide. The other main rule is that the more negative element second.
more negative?
wow you are really giving me some good examples, i been trying to make this study guide as great as i could
Haha I coulda worded that better, The more positive element on the periodic table is the element named first.
Oh ok which way is postivie in this case the left side to the right side or right side to the left side?
With a few execptions its usually the element thats first From left to right.
thank you! can you help me with another?
Sure.
How do you name ionic compounds?
this is the one from google is it good ? The cation is always written first in the formula for an ionic compound. Most cations are monoatomic (consist of only 1 atom that has lost electrons to become positively charged) metal ions. ... The only common polyatomic ion that you will encounter is the ammonium ion (NH4+).
Yeah add onto that another rule really tho. In most examples you will name the metal first.
Ok thank you !
I just have two more they are really easy
OK, as an example for previous think Na Cl or Sodium Chloride
THANK YOU lol yes examples!
How do you find molar mass?
this is on the bottom of each element right ?
Molar mass is usually on any periodic table..its that number that looks like this 77.84 <--- or somethign similar. Its expressed as g/mol of that particular item and is the mass of that element if you have one mol of it. This number will never change as an added bonus.
For example oxygen's molar mass - is around 31.99
OMG
ty
and my last one 7. How do you convert between mass and moles?
Keep in mind oxygen is never found as a single atom and thats why its doubled. But most are just the atomic mass which is on the periodic table. The actual molar mass of oxygen is a special case because its a diatomic element (which means its doubled)
Oh!! atomic mass and molar mass are not the same?
They are almost always the same, my example oxygen being the exception. Because oxygen will always be paired with another oxygen it's molar mass will be double because a mole of oxygen is technically a mole of (double oxygens)
Ok thats good to know ! I have that one last question
To convert between mass and moles you need to know the molar mass usually. Molar mass tells you how much mass one mole of the substance has. So if you know that and how much of the substance you have, you can determine how many moles you have. Does that help?
Yes it does thank you very much
I can now sleep in peacess!
Alright, have a good rest :D
I have used your exact words on my study guide if you must know
Do i have that permission?
Ok! Thanks you yourself have a goodnight!
