Well, your thinkcness did not make it. Anyhow, whad do you think you need to do to set the problem up?
1/12 meter thick
I feel stupid but I don't know how to do a problem with fractions in it
It is just like any other division. But more importanf, how would you write that whole thing as an equation?
1/12 divided by 2?
1/12 is divided already. Boards is some unknown, so lets call it b. And 2 is the result, or what it equals.
ok
starting to understand, would the answer be 2/8?
No, it is going to be a large number due to how you cancel a fraction. Let me show you an example: If I have a brick that is 1/3rd of a foot and I want to know how many are in a foot, well, it is easy to see that if it is 1/3rd then 3 make a foot.... but how can I do it mathematically? 1/3 bricks = 1 foot or \(\dfrac{1}{3}b=1\) So, can you set up yours like that?
yes
ohhh now I understand
K, so how did you set it up and how many did you get ths time?
couple seconds
