This was obviously when Abraham Lincoln was president, and so we have to recognize the fact that most people in this time where very racist and where not so happy with colored people thus explaining why the Chicago Times wrote this "Review" about his speech "Readers will not have failed to observe the exceeding bad taste which characterized the remarks of the President ...
