There is no backstory in the story I don't have a quotation and there is no backstory The town believed that the new neighbors that lived across the street were poor and didn't mean anything. But Tom and Andy believed that they should welcome the family, so they did. They offered them gifts and the new family (The duvitches) would always give back as well. This is important because it makes up the story and shows that things might change in the town.

can you answer a few more

Describe the setting of your novel or short story. Provide a quotation from the text to support your answer. Describe the protagonist of your novel or short story. Provide a quotation from the text to support your answer. Discuss the main conflict in your novel or short story. If the conflict is not perfectly clear yet, what do you suspect it will be? Which of the four major types of conflict best describes the situation you discussed? Describe the antagonist from your novel or short story. Provide a quotation from the text to support your answer.

@BriannaBear

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

Can you choose a different short story besides one of those?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one momento please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so the protagonist is tom and Andy because the new family moving in is from their perspective. Yes there is a narrator but it is focused on how Andy and Tom treat the Duvitches with respect and help them gain more respect from the town

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@BriannaBear

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The antagonist would be the town because they didn't take time to get to know the new family, they judged them right off the bat. Also another example of a antagonist is when Tom and Andy poisoned the duvitches fish. It made them bad ppl. (They are both the pro and antagonist)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The main conflict is that the town doesn't see the potential in the family.
