If you saw this sentence in an essay, would it constitute plagiarism? Baseball is surprisingly known as "America's Favorite Pastime." But don't worry because football is hot on its heels in the race for the title. Yes. It uses the original author's words but does not include quotes or a citation. No. It uses the author's original words but significantly changes their meaning. It is actually an example of paraphrasing rather than plagiarizing. It is actually an example of summarizing rather than plagiarizing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you Think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idk..lol

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

Do you know if those EXACT words came from somewhere?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have to gueess. I cant give you the answer actually no one can.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no one give the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Obviously, @_kionidawn_xoxo. You're an idiot..lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I never asked for the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i am not. i am just trying to help.. We are not supposed to give you the answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TinyLittleHelper I have no idea..lol It's just a question on one of my English assignments.

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

If you have nothing nice to say don't say anything. Now... Do you know if that sentence came from somewhere?

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

Oh.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL whatever.

OpenStudy (warpedkitten):

It doesn't sound like it would be A or B. C seems more likely since it has quotation marks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It doesn't have quotation marks for the whole thing..lol just one part. It's not C.

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

So, cross out C. What other choices do you have? And stop laughing so frequently; you're scaring me... 0.0

OpenStudy (warpedkitten):

So do a process of elimination. You've read the work more than we have.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought you said D..! My bad @warpedkitten

OpenStudy (anonymous):

None of the answers really make sense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if its in quotes its not plagiarizing

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

But it's not. Only the title is in quotes, which is grammatically correct, @warpedkitten. Just to letcha know.

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

This is tricky...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont kno wwhat to tell you if you dont know. we caant give you the answer

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

Pretend this phrase came from an essay. You'd have to add some proof it's not yours, wouldcha? Does this have anything, ANYTHING that proves this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and i am pretty sure that its not the title

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

@xo_kansasprincess_xo , does it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@_kionidawn_xoxo What? You're not making any sense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TinyLittleHelper Does what?

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

Pretend that you're writing an essay and got this phrase came straight from another essay. You'd have to add some proof like quotation marks in the WHOLE phrase or saying it's not yours, would ya? Does this sentence have ANYTHING that proves this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Besides the quotation marks around the title, no.

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

Okay then. What answer shows that the sentence has NO proof that it is not theirs?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B?

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

Do you know what plagiarism is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah.

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

What is it? Tell me then.

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

@xo_kansasprincess_xo Here: Plagiarism is when someone copies a phase and doesn't change it up or has NO proof for a phrase that it isn't theirs. The question asks us if it is plagiarism. Using what I told you, and knowing that it isn't C, and that is CAN'T be B, then what answer do you think it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A

OpenStudy (tinylittlehelper):

Good. Mastery: Walker Just need a little more work on it and you'd be fine. Good job!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks..!:)
