HELP PLEASE !!! <3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@satellite73

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok that was wrong sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what was wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for \(-4\) and \(3\) use the top rule so \[h(-4)=\frac{1}{2}\times (-4)-1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[h(3)=\frac{1}{2}\times 3-1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and you are told \(h(-1)=4\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first one is 2, second one is 1.5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@satellite73

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dan815

OpenStudy (dan815):

tope try again

OpenStudy (dan815):

nope*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont really understand it, can you explain what to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you compute?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, ^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{1}{2}\times (-4)=1=-2-1=-3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2=1=-3=-3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops i meant \[\frac{1}{2}\times (-4)-1=-2-1=-3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets say it in inglish one half of minus four is minus two minus two minus one is minus three

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3=-3=-3?

OpenStudy (dan815):

lol megan xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol am i retarded?

OpenStudy (dan815):

lmaaooo

OpenStudy (dan815):

nope :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol im not understanding.

OpenStudy (dan815):

okay so when x is not -1 you stick it into the other equality h(x)=x/2-1 when x is not -1

OpenStudy (dan815):

h(-4)=-4/2 -1 = -2-1 =-3

OpenStudy (dan815):

h(-1)=4 that is given

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer for h(-1)=4?

OpenStudy (dan815):

h(3)=3/2-1=1.5-1=0.5=1/2

OpenStudy (dan815):

yeaah

OpenStudy (dan815):

http://prntscr.com/72slj6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so the other ones should be..

OpenStudy (dan815):

if x=-1 then h(x)=4 if x is not -1 then h(x)=1/2* x -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know what youre saying tbh.

OpenStudy (dan815):

T_T

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry, can you explain a little less complicatedly? :(

OpenStudy (dan815):

okay so this is how a function works h(x) =x/2-1 it means when you pick a value for x, you replace wherever you see that x with it in the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay but the h(x) when there is a number there, what happenes to the h?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mateaus Please help? :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's the issue?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not understanding at all of how to do this
