OpenStudy (royalkiwi):

The thesis statement of a strong compare-and-contrast essay should combine A. two relevant details and the main topic. B. the writer’s viewpoint with a summary of the details. C. the writer’s observations with a viewpoint. D. the topic with the writer’s viewpoint.

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Honestly I'm not sure. All I can say is that you can eliminate D since you should provide more than a topic and your opinion.

OpenStudy (royalkiwi):

Right of course. I'm thinking C.

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Perhaps. I was thinking more B for....actually, I have no idea why I think it's B. I just do. I really hope this doesn't violate the rule of giving DAs because I HAD an explanation until I forgot just now. I'll tell you when it comes back to me.

OpenStudy (royalkiwi):

yoooo thanks!

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Well I have an explanation, but not a very good one. But hey, a crappy explanation is better than no explanation at all right? So A and C seem like they're...missing something. Like normally when I write compare and contrast essays I don't write only what A or C suggest.

OpenStudy (royalkiwi):

I was thinking the same. Makes sense, thank you for your help, I'll take your suggestion
