Read the following selection from Act III of Romeo and Juliet. What conflict does the line in bold most closely represent? JULIET O serpent heart, hid with a flowering face! Did ever dragon keep so fair a cave? Beautiful tyrant! fiend angelical! Dove-feather'd raven! wolvish-ravening lamb! Despised substance of divinest show! Just opposite to what thou justly seem'st, A damned saint, an honourable villain! <- BOLD O nature, what hadst thou to do in hell, When thou didst bower the spirit of a fiend In moral paradise of such sweet flesh? Was ever book containing such vile matter
So fairly bound? O that deceit should dwell In such a gorgeous palace! Man vs. Man Man vs. Self Man vs. Nature Man vs. Society
What do you think?
Well, I know I've had this question 3 times before and got it wrong every time, but I can't remember which 3 answers were wrong.
Well, what do you think? Man vs. Man means against another person Man vs. Self means against his or herself Man vs. Nature means against nature Man vs. Society is against people
If this gives a hint, at leas to what iGreen is saying - Juliet is speaking about Romeo.
I wanted to say Man vs. Self or Man vs. Man But I'm not sure which.
Nice job eliminating the rest..but I don't think Juliet is talking to herself :P
So that would eliminate Man vs. Self, correct?
Yep
Mm, I think she was? It was, or rather rambling on about Romeo killing Tybalt to the Nurse.
I was pretty sure it was Man vs. Man, but now I'm not too sure.
Disregard me, I'm just tossing an idea out there from my memory. This was a few years ago for me.
Oops, I meant to say about* not "to"
I think Man vs. Man is correct..I don't see what else it might be.
Thanks, you two. I may have some more questions about this soon, lol. I struggle a bit with this unit.
