After the colonists won independence from Britain, what was their main concern? A. creating a government that could protect them from Britain B. having a government that was too strong and powerful C. developing a new system of government too quickly D. relying on a government system for liberty
First off, any guesses?
nope
Welp I can say this, Britains government was the reason why they left :^)
so with that said what do you think
Well I would say C. Because after the revolution, the founding fathers knew that in order to keep the colonies united as a nation, they needed a united government. So they developed the Articles of Confederation, but that had too many weaknesses. So then they developed the constitution.
is it C?
@Lady.Liv1776 I would disagree I would say B The people that left Britain were under persecution from the English Government
The main goal when they first started was establishing a government that wasnt too strong but not too powerful Hence the checks and balance system
Yes, but this is after the revolution. They already won their independence, and with their french allies and Great Britain's huge debt from the war, they really didn't need to worry about protecting themselves from Britain.
They declared independence ins 1776 the war did not end till 1783.
And the whole goal for them when they first started was to build a government not too strong and not too powerful. So I would say B. Colonists at the time were scared of another Monarchy so this would be true.
