How does a mutation affect a gene? A mutation changes the sequence of DNA bases in a gene. A mutation changes the sequence of RNA bases in a gene. A mutation creates the sequence of RNA bases in a gene. A mutation creates the sequence of traits in a gene.

The answer is A, because it changes the DNA code creating something different such as autism or down syndrome.

ah thanks

I agree with @doafan. A is the answer that best describes the root cause. However, permanent changes in DNA, i.e. mutation, can lead to the changes described in the other three as DNA > RNA > Protein > trait. As you can see with this simply-illustrated fundamental concept of biology in terms of genetic data, alterations in DNA can lead to a cascade of mutations in the aforementioned if not proofread early on.

@Cardinal_Carlo Thanks, that's a better response. Nice to see you again XD

I appreciate the flattery @doafan you're clever yourself.
