Can anyone help me? will give hugs. and medal. i dont think its a login screen this time... https://s3.amazonaws.com/awesomescreenshot/upload/52266/53443/e435f7d5-1e9b-442c-4e70-72ea20430c45.png?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAJSCJQ2NM3XLFPVKA&Expires=1431560409&Signature=LOP%2FXoho2b1wceuP%2BGYXR832Lkk%3D

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats better ....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

distance, is it adding or subtracting?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if i want to know the distance between 2 and 3, do i add 2 and 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no subtract i think :l

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well i chose 2 and 3 since it should be fairly obvious that they have a distance of 1 between them. 2+3 is not 1 so subtraction must be it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

now for the next thought experiment is the distance between 2 and 3, the same distance that is between 3 and 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the since the distance is 1 either way ... then the result is always positive. now which option, doing no math; is subtraction, and gives us a postiive result?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then regardless of the messyness, it has to be C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think :l

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...k i think i get it :) thanks

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck :)
