What does to kill a mocking bird teach abut the theme conscience/personal integrity?

I'd say that the moral of "To Kill a Mockingbird" is somewhere along the lines of "Don't condemn the innocent, no matter what prejudices there may be". The story's main conflict is heavily involved with prejudice and even racism, and I recall that Atticus told Scout that innocent mockingbirds often are killed for no good reason at all, and that one shouldn't treat any human being like a mockingbird in that sense. (I read the story a while back.) I hope that helps! (^_^)
