OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Any idears there, sport?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well since it says eaten i thought it was B but im not completely sure

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

What's underlined? We can't help if we don't know.

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Well here's the thing: past and past perfect are different.

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

A simple past version of eat would be ate rather than have eaten.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the underlined thing is had and eaten

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Yes, so it's not simple past.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so perfect past?

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Yes,

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Indeed it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you could you help me with a few more?

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What tense is the underlined verb in the sentence? I have taken the grocery bags out of the car already. A. present perfect B. past perfect C. future perfect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the underlined thing is 'have taken'

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

So based on what we learned from the first one, what do you think this one is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B?

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What tense is the underlined verb in the sentence? We walk to the duck pond every Saturday morning. A. present B. past C. past perfect D. present perfect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the underlined thing is walk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not too sure about this one

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Well it's not past because it's happening right now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then i would think its B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or C

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Oh dear. This is quite the issue. I mixed up my knowledge of present perfect with my knowledge of past perfect.

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

OOOOOH I got it now. If the verb begins with "had," it's past perfect, and if it begins with "has," it's present perfect.

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

So the second one we did is actually present perfect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Lol. Sorry about that. Is it too late to change the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i can change it

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

Okay good.

OpenStudy (kyanthedoodle):

So you know what this one is, right?
