iYuko (iyuko):

The sexuality, cussing, dating, rudeness...Ect. HAS to stop!

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

REPORT IGNORE MOVE ON!

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

:D

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

Or simply leave the place of action :P

iYuko (iyuko):

More like get rid of the chats.

iYuko (iyuko):

We need a no tolerance rule.

iYuko (iyuko):

They need to know when enough is enough.

iYuko (iyuko):

And ban the user.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Posting something won't change anything. Actions change things.

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

However..there's a controversy that it would encourage more spam on posts, and the chats are actually for a breather for people that want to take a break from helping or posting questions.

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

Credits to @EclipsedStar

iYuko (iyuko):

Then keep the chat's not the rule breaking users.

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

Well they get punished eventually

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

LET THE MADNESS STOP!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe that chat's are fine. But today I did experience some rudeness, Ik you were there @iYuko lol. Ya that's not right, but someone is always gonna find some way to go against it, no matter how many rules you have. But I do agree with @Thesmarterone because that's all you can really do. Sadly, you just gotta go on with life and ignore

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And @EclipsedStar is correct about that

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, a lot of it is illegal... not just OpenStudy does not like it, but illegal by laws that go back to like 2003, 2005, and so on. Because these constrained speech and press, someone took it to court. They lost in 2008. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/20/washington/20scotus.html?_r=0 According to the Supreme Court, sex talk in relation to minors through electronic means is NOT protected speech or press and is able to be lawfully regulated. So anyone here can take a post, file a complaint with the police, and it could go on to an entire nightmare for someone that thought they were just having some sexy fun in chat. The large percntage of minors in chat make it a very real thing that this could happen and if it is a direct message for a pic... then they are really asking for trouble.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean I agree but sometimes that could be taking it too far, unless you are sending pics like that. Unless it's like someone posing as one age, being the other, and talking to minors

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ppl already get suspended for asking for nudes (and then make another account) Ya we should do something about it (like I said, It's a minor with an adult) but you shouldn't take it to such extremes sometimes. It just depends on the situation

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

We should not have to go to the police to ensure the safety on a study site. That is the sites job to keep the content on it age appropriate. If the content is posted by someone else then OS should take action against them.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

BriannaBear, I am just pointing out the law. Under the law, it is not even seen as a joke. Just one, teasing comment and someone could be convicted. There are teens, 15+, taking to cour as an adult. That means their record is NOT sealed at 18. So just one silly think they thought was funny and they could be forced to register as a pedophile sex offender for the rest of their life. And that is a very serious thing. All it takes is one parent to read the OS chat, or one kid to cry over a message, and it could directly result in the offending user ending up on the wrong side of the law. This is not a choise OpenStudy has any control over.
