Good guess, but "their" is used to describe when something belongs to a group. Like:
"their car"
"their game"
"their food"
In this case, it doesn't make sense to say that "going bowling" belongs to them. :)

Your strategy of getting the correct answer out of me is a good one. ;) The sentence should say "Do they know whether [they are] going bowling or not?" Another way of writing "they are" is "they're".

And to clarify, "there" means a location. To say "Do they know whether (location) going bowling or not?" wouldn't make sense.
