Why do people here give direct answers instead of guiding them like a teacher?

A lot of people do not read the Code of Conduct or Terms and Conditions when they sign up. When they finally do hear about it and read it, then they become more of a teacher than giving answers. However, some still continue on with their ways even after getting their warning or suspension. What happens is when people join the site, they only want the answers. So new users think that OpenStudy is for getting and giving answers. It all depends on people around them, do they message them and kindly tell them about the rules or do they ignore that this new user who doesn't know about the rules and just gave an answer? If you see new users who are giving direct answers, then message them. Here is one nice message that @jigglypuff314 made for such situations! ^_^ Hello and Welcome to OpenStudy! :) You seem new here and more than willing to help which is mighty fine since we need all the help we can get :) But you might want to take some time and read this site's code of conduct! http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct This site has a policy for "Give Help, Not Answers" violations of such policies could potentially result in an account suspension or ban. It's great to see another helper among us, so it would be sad if you got in trouble for giving out answers. Hope you'll have a nice time here on OpenStudy, and I'll see ya around :) Have a Nice Day! And if you see an older user give direct answers, no need to tell them about the Code of Conduct, they should at least know what it is by now. You can hit that report button and when the mod ban hammer comes once again, they might learn from their mistakes. :p

Some people don't know how to do the work, but use a calculator to get the answer, so theyy give the direct answer - since they don't know how to get to the answer - and not an explanation. Sometimes it also gets time consuming with these long explanations people just go 'Eh, whatever.' Still report them though Oh, and Welcome to OpenStudy

OpenStudy (callisto):

1) Give what the asker want - some users just want answers without going through the learning process. So, some users may just give the answer to the asker. 2) Too lazy to teach - teaching someone how to solve a problem may take hours. 3) They are not good at teaching but still want to help. 4) To show off. Perhaps there are many more reasons.

Thanks everyone! I plan on helping users later maybe in summer or when school starts.
