A. 5 B. 2 C. 4 D. 1 I am thinking sentence 5 is the correct answer, yet Im not 100%. Can someone help explain this better? At first I thought the answer was sentence 2.
its not 2, its 5! 100% sure!
Thanks for your reply! Can you tell me how your 100% sure, just so I can understand?
sure
an adverb is like a help to the verb, the verb in sentence 5 is help and the adverb is happy!
thats what i think
Ok I was thinking the adverb was "Fortunately" due to it ending in "ly"
i don't think so
hold on
Im trying to do the process of elimination :)
a word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb or a word group, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause, degree, etc. (e.g., gently, quite, then, there ). thats the definition
I found a list of adverbs...and "happily" is on the list not happy. Most but not all adverbs in in "ly"
Your reason makes sense but Im just trying to understand especially when the "ly" ending on words is throwing me off
