Some Smart Ways to Raise Up Your Smart Score... -Answer questions not only in detail but guide the user to understand the problem. Don't give direct answer.

OpenStudy (elonasushchik):

-Giving direct answers is not only not allowed, but it doesn't even help the user understand anything. Plus, direct answers don't increase your smartscore as fast as answering in detail would. -Teamwork! One thing people consider to be somewhat hard to do. By gaining fans as well as fanning users, you are then increasing your smartscore even more! The more fans you earn, the higher you go. But be aware that creating accounts to fan yourself doesn't increase your smartscore by much. Also, it's not allowed and could lead to your main account being suspended forever. You best bet would be to enter chats, as well as help out a lot. -Lastly we have engagement. Here is the fun part, when you ask questions you're increasing your smartscore! Isn't that cool? You can increase your smartscore just by making threads you need help on! Not to mention the amount of medals you earn and give out can help increase it faster! But keep in mind, spamming yourself with medals isn't allowed on here and will not increase your smartscore fast at all. Another thing about engagement is that the longer you're on here, the higher your smartscore goes too!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that deserves a medal :3

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Lovely @ElonaSushchik :D

OpenStudy (elonasushchik):

Also if you invite http://openstudy.com/invites people that raises your SS too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's cool, never knew that one!

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

Every little thing you do on OpenStudy can increase your smartscore. It's how well you do these things to increase it. There's no fast easy way to increase it. It takes time. For the problem solving portion, you must answer questions not only in detail, but guiding the user to understanding the problem. Giving direct answers is not only not allowed, but it doesn't even help the user understand anything. Plus, direct answers don't increase your smartscore as fast as answering in detail would. Teamwork! But keep in mind, spamming yourself with medals isn't allowed on here and will not increase your smartscore fast at all. Another thing about engagement is that the longer you're on here, the higher your smartscore goes too! It's as if almost everything on here will increase your smartscore. It can be fun and I hope you find it very fun too. I hope you have the best time on OpenStudy and good luck with the journey on here. c: ~beccaboo333

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

That also helps :)

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

But well done @ElonaSushchik :*

OpenStudy (agl202):

Elona!!! ^ :)

OpenStudy (elonasushchik):

thanks @kidrah69 and everyone else..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ElonaSushchik this is cool and all, but don't give away too much information...the last thing we need is people figuring out these things and spamming medals again, but awesome :D

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

This post is fine. It does not give ideas.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know it is, but I am just saying that don't give away too much...people will get the idea of figuring out the you know ;)

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

@ElonaSushchik yours is completely based on @beccaboo333's tutorial right? Please cite it next time, but overall, good job! :)

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Thesmarterone I know it is, but I am just saying that don't give away too much...people will get the idea of figuring out the you know ;) \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Uh huh. You're still searching for it, hmm? :P

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Yea, it seems like half of what Becca made ,-,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly, but way to remind people :)

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

I think it's fine, and it's a good way to deter people from giving direct answers. Long replies are always better for your smartscore, as they appear more reasonably to be an effort to helping the user learn how to do/understand things, which is why we're here to begin with

thomaster (thomaster):

If you want to know what increases your SmartScore the most: (originally from http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/53fbe64fe4b0ae4669f9b08b ) It works like this: SmartScore is directly proportional to a specific value called Points. You can find your points value when you go to the chrome developer tools console and type the following: os.userById('username').smarts().points; and then hit enter. For example: os.userById('thomaster').smarts().points; It will return 2508313, this is my current points value. Now 2.5 million points is way more than enough for a score of 99. For 99 you'll need about 1 million points. You can increase your points in a lot of ways, some actions give more points, some give less. I didn't figure them all out, but here are some things I already confirmed: + 0 Sending or getting a private message + 0 Bump Question + 0 Giving a medal + 0 Replying in your own question + 1 Every chat message you post (engagement) + 20 Closing a question (engagement) + 25 Asking a question (engagement) + 25 Giving a testimonial (teamwork) + 50 Replying in someone else's question (problem solving) + 65 Getting a testimonial (teamwork) + 65 Fanning someone (teamwork) + 65 Getting tagged (teamwork) + 65 Tagging someone, this is for each tag (teamwork) + 100 Getting a medal in your own question (engagement) + 200 Getting a fan (teamwork) + 285 Getting a medal (problem solving) + 750 Getting a medal from the question asker (problem solving) So as expected, the best way to raise your SmartScore is helping people with their question and get a medal from that user.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Oh my, Thomas, the secret is out. People shall make alt accounts, ask questions and medal spam themselves that way since they now know that is what will help them increase their SmartScore the fastest. .-. But seems like SLX already knew that and is ahead of the game c;

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Oh great!

OpenStudy (king.void.):

Or be awesome like me ;) Void!~
