You have to take the square root of 160

iYuko (iyuko):

12.6*

iYuko (iyuko):

What next?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x^2 = 160\]\[x = \sqrt{160}\]\[x = \sqrt{16*10}\]\[x = \sqrt{16} * \sqrt{10}\]\[x = 4\sqrt{10}\]\[x = \pm 4\sqrt{10}\]

iYuko (iyuko):

What is the 10 from? And where did the 4 come from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well I broke the 160 apart into 16 * 10 because 16*10 = 160 right?

iYuko (iyuko):

Okay.

iYuko (iyuko):

The 16 to get 4....Got ya.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes :p

iYuko (iyuko):

Thanks!

X2=160 x=+√160 x=4√10 or x=-4√10 Answer x=√10 or x= -4√10
