i thought it was the 3rd one but i got it wrong, im not even sure what a dangling modifier is..

An industrial power, the Germans have been reunited. "A power" normally refers to a whole country, so it would have to go with "Germany", as it does in examples 2 and 3.

Actually I think it's the first one. I think the problem with this example sentence is that it needs some sort of identification (in this case, you)
