ok so if we have a triangle 3 by 9 and dimensions doubled that means that the rectangle would have the dimensions 6 by 18 so originally the area was 27 now the area would be 108 108/27= 4 it would be four times the original size

It will be four times the original size. This is because 9 times 3 is 27, but 6 times 18 is 108, and 108 is four times as much as 27.
