Whose writing about humanism helped prepare the way for the Renaissance? A. Thomas More B. Erasmus C. Petrarch D. Isabella d'Este
I do not know who Isabella d'Este is or was. Do you?
She was a Renaissance artist, thinker, and much more I think. Hold on let me look her up sorry.
Isabella d'Este (18 May 1474 – 13 February 1539) was Marchesa of Mantua and one of the leading women of the Italian Renaissance as a major cultural and political figure. So I don't exactly think she was a humanist...well at least I don't think her main reason she was admired in history was because of being one.
It could be Erasmus since he was a writer, philosopher, and Christian humanist criticized Church officials for their worldliness.
Okay, here is some information I found in my book about Petrarch: Francesco Petrarca, commonly anglicized as Petrarch, was an Italian scholar and poet in Renaissance Italy, and one of the earliest humanists. Petrarch's rediscovery of Cicero's letters is often credited for initiating the 14th-century Renaissance
"Often credited for initiating the 14th-century Renaissance" What do you think?
Ahhh I see well yeah...now Petrach seems kind of more like the best answer now. I mean Erasmus didn't really do anything that prepared anything even really similar to the Renaissance he was mostly about spreading Humanist ways.
Alright I'll go with Petrach then thanks for the help again. ^^
Anytime. it's a pleasure helping you.
