Cards with the numbers 1 through 50 are placed in a box and thoroughly shuffled. What is the probability of randomly selecting a card with a number less than 10 or a multiple of 12? A. B. C. D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are 9 cards less than 10. multiples of 12 are 12, 24, 36, and 48, so there are 4 multiples. 9+4=13. So the chance is 13/50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow you did that without any options?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well options are just the entry method, they aren't necessary to solve the question. They generally do make it easier though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are like super smart

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd like to think that, but I mean I'm in 10th grade so it's pretty natural to solve these kinds of problems.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that explains it... i'm in 7th so of course its going to be easy for you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well not everything before my current grade is easy for me though, I've forgotten a ton of it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol i imagine
