I'm really stuck on this problem, if someone can help me PLZ!!!:) Which is a solution to the equation y = 2x – 5? A. (3, 11) B. (2, 1) C. (1, –3) D. (5, –5)
I tried all of them and they didn't seem to work, if you could explain how to do it right, that would be awesome!:)
A point will be a solution if the equation is true for the given values of x and y. Each of the choices is an ordered pair, where the first number is the x value and the second is the y: (x,y). What did you do to check each solution?
C
i guess i didnt do it right... cause i'm looking at what i'm spposed to do, and i think i did it wrong
what am i supposed to do?
Y=-3 and x=1 then -3=2*1-5
oh i thought it was Y=1 and X=-3 then 1=2*-3-5... i get it now, thank you for explaining that to me... i guess i could give you a medal in return for helping me? Is that fine?
For each of the choices, replace x in the original equation with the first value in the ordered pair. Then, simplify the equation (multiply the new x by 2 and subtract 5), and see if it's equal to the second value in the ordered pair.
@ssssss Is it fine if i give you a medal?
Yess ))
can you fan me? @ssssss I'll fan you too
i just fanned you!!!!:)
Me too
Thanks!!!!:)
