how do you solve this..??? (x+6)^2 + (y-2)^2 = 25

OpenStudy (loser66):

I don't know how to solve it since it is the equation of a circle with center (-6, 2) and radius 5. What do you want to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The question sayss what is the area of the circle with standard equal : (x+6)^2 + (y-2)^2 = 25 to the nearest integer

OpenStudy (loser66):

oh, it is area. What is the formula to find area of a circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk

OpenStudy (loser66):

google

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Area= 3.14r^2

OpenStudy (loser66):

and r is the radius of the circle, right? as above, I told you radius of the given circle is 5, then you just put it into the formula to get the answer. Done.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you know the radius is 5 and can you help me figure out like the equation

OpenStudy (vampirediaries):

Radius of the is 5 like loser66 said because of the equation above if you take the square root of 25 it's going to be 5. I'm not sure about this but if you want the area of the circle either use given coordinates with the radius or use area formula for a circle. I'm pretty sure I've done something like this before and there's an equation but I don't remember from the top of my head. Good luck
