OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

Linda described four triangles as shown below: Triangle A: All sides have length 7 cm. Triangle B: All angles measure 60°. Triangle C: Two sides have length 8 cm, and the included angle measures 60°. Triangle D: Base has length 8 cm, and base angles measure 55°. Which triangle is not a unique triangle? Triangle A Triangle B Triangle C Triangle D

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

@triciaal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, first we need to know what is a unique triangle.... what is it?

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

Unique Triangles are Triangles that do not have an equivalent. This means there is not another triangle that has the exact dimensions or shape. The sets of facts or conditions that you need to know to create an unique triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are the sets of facts we need to know...?

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

Can you help me or not man

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You just need to read the rest of what you "Copy-Pasted" before... The sets of facts or conditions that you need to know to create an unique triangle are: - The lengths of the three sides - The lengths of two sides and the measure of the angle between the sides - The measure of two angles and the length of the side between the angles - The measure of two angles and the length of a side not between the angles now take a look at your choices and see which one of them does not match any of this sets...

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

B

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

@Greg_D. I got B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are right, since we are given the 3 angles in B, and that set of facts is not listed in the rules... great work!

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

Ok thanks can u help with a couple more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thinkwe should stick to 1 question per post!

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

Yea lol thats what im talking about

OpenStudy (triciaal):

wait it can't be A or B

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

Why not @triciaal. So its C?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

A all sides equal equilateral triangle B all angles equal equilateral triangle

OpenStudy (triciaal):

C is an isosceles triangle 2 sides equal then the base angles are equal the included angle is 60 so this is actually an equilateral triangle as well

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

Ok so its D right

OpenStudy (triciaal):

I did not review all of the post by Greg_D to see the application of a unique triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@triciaal please take am oment to read the unique triangle definition, you may be confused with equilateral...

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

So its D right

OpenStudy (nuccioreggie):

Yall are confusing me really

OpenStudy (anonymous):

guess, that giving the 3 angles also defines an unique triangle, even thought it is not listed in the "set of facts" i gave earlier, so we can consider D is the right answer....
