how do we get rid of a denominator?
equations are valid when we do the same operation to both sides, this allows us to change form, but retain equality. so multiplying each side by the same thing, allows us to change the LOOK of it, but retain the equality of it.
when ever we have a denominator, its best to clear it out .. a/b = k , multiply both sides by b (why?) a b/b = kb , b/b = 1 if b isnt 0 a = kb , this tends to be simpler form for us to work with.
