A jar contained 6 red marbles, 10 green marbles, and 8 blue marbles. A marble was selected at random, the color was recorded, and the marble was placed back in the jar. The table shows the results after 50 trials. What was the relative frequency of selecting a red marble? Round to the nearest percent, if necessary.

Do you have any ideas?

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

well im thinking u add up 6 10 8 and 50 then divide?

OpenStudy (jackofalltradez):

Nope. That would be dividing the total amount of marbles by the times a marble was drawn. It should be 10 divided by 50, because it's asking what is the frequency of a red marble being drawn.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

o.2

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (jackofalltradez):

Which translates to 20% frequency And no problem ^_^

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

wait so 20 not 0.2

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

wait ur right 20 % <---
