1,4,20,120 How do we find the nth term

OpenStudy (nottim):

nth term? like this is in a table?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it is written to find the nth term of this sequence and the next to numbers

OpenStudy (nottim):

Well, every time you go up a value, you multiple it by an increasing multiple, staring from 4.

OpenStudy (nottim):

4, 5, 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true

OpenStudy (nottim):

I was really hoping that was all you need.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um no

OpenStudy (nottim):

I know there's another step, but i'm running blanks.

OpenStudy (nottim):

but make a table. it will make it easier for you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have done that already

OpenStudy (nottim):

darnit man.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is kinda hard

OpenStudy (nottim):

i did this back in grd. 11. i can't remember it now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well im doing it in gr9

OpenStudy (nottim):

goddarnit i failed high school then. what the ell. i'm really running blanks.

OpenStudy (nottim):

Is the nth term 1? cause that's what I got.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its like if the sequence is 2,4,6,8 so the nth term will be 2n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if n is 1 then x is 2 if n is 2 then x is 4

OpenStudy (nottim):

Alright, this is definitely not what oyu want, but the formula to this table is y=11.833x^3-64.5x^2+113.67x-60

OpenStudy (nottim):

I think the order is 3.

OpenStudy (jack1):

agreed
