Look in alkenes where there is a double bond the bond breaks in oxidation to form product molecules now how do we know which product molecules form? There are rules to follow 1) if there are two alkyl groups at one end of the bond that part of the molecule will give a ketone 2) If 1 alkyl group and 1 H at one end of the bond that part will give carboxylic acid 3) if 2 H at one end of bond it will give CO2 and H2O.

So we can write the product molecules as CO2 + H2O + CH3CO2H
Now let's look your question
So look closely and you'll see that one C is bonded to one CH3 group and another C atom of another complex alkyl group
