Identify the type of phrase underlined in the following sentence (I'll put it in quotes because the underline isn't showing up): The monkey, "a simian primate", is often found in the jungle.
Are there any choices?
Yes, hold on
gerund appositive participial infinitive
What do you think the answer is?
I have no idea what any of these things mean. I've done research but it still makes no sense to me.
If you can't tell, english class isn't my strong suit.
Yup. Don't worry. Give me a sex.
SORRY! "Sec."
Hahaha it's okay
That sounded dirty though... xD The answer is Appositive.
I trust you, but how are you sure?
They use commas to set off most appositives and their modifiers. For example: Alaska, "the largest state," was once owned by Russia.
Where as, "The largest state" is the appositive.
Okay I have one more question, only because I'm not sure if I got it right. May I ask you?
Sure! Throw them at me! Literally. xDDD But make a different post. :)
