ok,, to find the area of shade region we will have to divide the region into smaller parts.
Sit tight cz m gonna draw.
ok :)

Can u recognize the figure? It's the shaded area from ur graph.
ok
Now we can find the whole area by finding the area of triangle A, rectangle B and rectangle C and adding them all
ok?
oko
Do u know how to find the area of triangle A?
no
For a right angled triangle like triangle A, area = \(\sf 0.5 \times base \times height\)
Can u find area of triangle A now?
ill try
whats the base and height

Got it?
?
yes
@Abhisar
What is the area, in square feet, of the shaded region?

Sorry! I had to leave yesterday. So, to calculate the area of shaded region we divided that region into triangle A, rectangle B and C. Now to calculate the are we will calculate the areas of all the 3 regions one by one and finally sum up them together. Area of Triangle A: Area of a right angled triangle is given by 0.5 * base * height. Here, base of the triangle =8+2=10 (see the figure) and height = 8-2-2=4. \(\therefore\) Area = 0.5 * 4 * 10 =?
Now area of rectangle = Length * Breadth. Length of Rectangle B and C are 10 and 8 respectively and breadth for rectangle B and C are 1 and 2 respectively. Calculate the area of each of them and finally add area of triangle A, area of rectangle B and C. That would be the area of shaded region.
