Which property of nervous tissue is fundamental to its function of coordinating the body's activities? a) cells that are tightly packed b) contains extracellular matrix c) presence of neurons d) short life span I think nervous tissue contains most of these characteristics, but I don't know which one is "fundamental to its function of coordinating the body's activities", so I would like a little help please.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm, any ideas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Probably A or C. The tightly packed cells make a slightly thicker membrane, but the neurons help keep everything running properly...I think...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But the extracellular matrix might have something to do with it too...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know what the Ex-Matrix does?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Without the presence of a neuron, the body wouldnt be able to collect "touch-information" and wouldnt be able to move properly. I think the answer wold be C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It provides structural and chemical support to the cells around it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thanks man. Biology is so not my thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ha! No prob
